Fulgencio Batista

Fulgencio Batista ruled Cuba twice, first elected President from 1940 to 1944 and eight years later returned as a brutal dictator in 1952, controlling the Congress, censuring the press and jailing his opponents. His regimen was overthrown by Fidel Castro with the Cuban Revolution, which made him went to exile. He died in Spain on August 6, 1973, due to a heart attack.
